Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 28 July 2025  |  Effective: 28 July 2025  |  Lume & Pivot, Johor Bahru, Malaysia

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the website at lumeandp.pro and your engagement with Lume & Pivot for watch repair services. By submitting an enquiry, dropping off a watch for service, or using this website, you agree to these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.

1. Definitions

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or engaging our services you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a service agreement. If you are acting on behalf of another person or an entity, you confirm you have authority to do so.

Continued use of the website after any update to these terms constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

3. Service Description

Lume & Pivot provides watch repair and restoration services including bracelet adjustment and link refit, self-winding rotor service, and pocket timepiece restoration commissions. Services are provided from our workshop in Johor Bahru and are available to clients who drop off and collect in person. We do not accept postal drop-off or delivery.

Services are available during published workshop opening hours. We reserve the right to decline any service request that falls outside our scope of competence or that we consider unsuitable.

4. Written Scope and Service Agreement

No work will commence on any piece until a written scope has been prepared by Lume & Pivot and agreed to by you. For restoration commissions, the scope is preceded by a condition survey. Agreeing to the written scope constitutes a binding service agreement between you and Lume & Pivot.

If an unexpected condition is discovered during service — for example, a hairline crack in a mainspring not visible at intake — we will contact you before proceeding. Additional work will only proceed with your written or confirmed verbal agreement.

You may withdraw your agreement before work begins, in which case no charge will apply. If work has already commenced, a partial charge proportional to the work completed may apply, as agreed in the written scope.

5. Payment Terms

All prices are quoted and charged in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Published starting prices are indicative. The actual price for your specific piece is confirmed in the written scope before any work begins.

Payment is due in full on collection of the piece. We accept cash, bank transfer, and major local e-wallet services. For restoration commissions, a staged payment schedule may be agreed as part of the written scope.

We do not offer refunds on completed services. If a service does not achieve the described outcome due to factors within our control, we will discuss remediation with you at no additional cost.

6. Care of Your Property and Liability

We take reasonable care of all pieces in our custody. Pieces are held on our workshop premises with appropriate security. We do not send pieces offsite during service.

Our liability for loss or damage to a piece in our care is limited to the fair market value of the piece at the time of loss or damage, as independently assessed. We are not liable for sentimental value, consequential loss, or pre-existing damage not identified at intake.

We recommend that your own insurer is notified when a high-value piece is in our care. We can provide documentation of the piece's location for their records.

7. Disclaimers

Watch repair is a skilled technical service and outcomes can be affected by the condition of the piece, the availability of parts, and the nature of the movement. We describe expected outcomes honestly in the written scope, but we do not make absolute promises about specific performance outcomes after service.

The website content is provided for informational purposes and does not constitute professional advice. Information about services, timing, and pricing is indicative and may be subject to change based on the specific piece involved.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, design, and imagery — is the property of Lume & Pivot or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this site for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Lume & Pivot's total liability to you in connection with any service or use of this website shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of this website or from services provided. This limitation does not affect rights you may have under Malaysian consumer protection legislation.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate a service agreement before work commences without penalty. Once work has commenced, termination by either party is governed by the provisions in the written scope. We reserve the right to terminate a commission if circumstances beyond our control (including unavailability of parts) make completion impossible, in which case we will return the piece and charge only for work completed.

11. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us directly in the first instance at [email protected] so we can attempt to resolve the matter informally.

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms periodically. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the website or services after any change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
